October 28, 2016Amazon launches 'Global Store' in India
A Amazon India recently launched “Amazon Global Store” in India after China and Mexico. Amazone allows Indian customers to purchase products directly from the US. India is the third market after China and Mexico to get the Global Store. The Global Store is simpler to use than many competitors. Although the “Global Store” section was already available on Amazon India, the formal launch announcement happened yesterday. Amazon global store allows the users to buy products that are not available in India and are available on Amazon in other countries.
Amazon, the world's largest online retailer announced the launch of the Global Store, that makes it easier for customers in the country to buy goods that are sold in the U.S. Amazon said that customers in India will now have direct access to thousands of international brands and a starting selection of over four million global products. The launch of the global store solves major hurdles around customs clearance and availability of shipping in India. On its part, Amazon purchases and clears customs to make way for a hassle-free shipment to your home. The firm said that these products can get delivered in two to four days. In addition to clearing customs, Amazon enables a much faster international shipping at a much-discounted price through the global store. We compiled a bunch of products that are not available on the Amazon India Store and can only be purchased using the Amazon Global Store. The move will give customers in India access to over 4 million products from international brands and help Amazon compete more aggressively against domestic rival Flipkart in the booming Indian e-commerce market.
"The company said that with this launch, Amazon.in will become the single largest online destination for buying both local and global products in India."

Ease of Buying Internationally :-
Amazon’s Global Store program will probably change the way Indian customers buy from other countries. For one, you don’t need to scan the Internet to find updated import duties on a product. Second, you get a clear view of what the final price will look like so there are no surprises. Third, and probably the most important, you no longer need international credit cards to make purchases. You can use your Indian debit or credit card, or even your net banking account to make a payment on Amazon Global Store.
Another key problem Amazon is solving with its Global Store program is international returns. If you buy using another third-party service provider, you can kiss goodbye to any chances to being able to return a product. With Amazon, you can schedule a return pickup and even get a full refund in case the product is defective or in case Amazon messed up in the shipping process.

Pricing
In terms of pricing, Amazon Global Store wins again since you pay for shipping just once. Since other service providers reroute packages, you pay for shipping at the online store first and then to the service provider. Sometimes it can be more expensive to ship products that are low-value items. Amazon’s sellers in US might also offer a better price on the Global Store compared to other online stores you’ll end up using with other service providers. Most consumers end up with inflated import duty bills when their products land at their place.
Issues with workarounds :-
There are a lot of limitations that come with such workarounds.

- Products getting lost during the transportation.
- Refuse a refund by seller.
- Received the incorrect or damaged product.
- Item will not refund or take the products back after the product reaches the buyer.
